01 A PRIVATE SPACE, WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Know what
really matters.
Matters is a safe, personal space to share what happens—and how you feel—with the people you choose. Circles are private recipient lists: you choose who receives each update. Catch up in a few minutes, then get on with your day.

02 WHY MATTERS
What matters can be tiny.
Or hard to say.
Sometimes it is delightfully unimportant.
A passing thought, a ridiculous obsession, or a tiny experience that does not justify a phone call—but says something about you.
Sometimes you need a little encouragement.
You are starting, stopping, trying again, or doing something that feels small from the outside. Your people can cheer you on.
Sometimes you only need people to know.
No question and no reply required. One update quietly tells the people you choose where life stands.
Sometimes it is hard to say.
Some news already takes enough energy. Share it once, in your own words, without repeating the same difficult conversation.
04 A SMALL STORY ABOUT VERY GOOD NEWS
Tuesday,
something finally happens.
The answer finally arrives.
The job in Lisbon is yours. You want your close friends to know now, even if you cannot call everyone before tonight.
One joyful line reaches the people you chose. No announcement tour, no public post—just the people you wanted to tell.
“I saw. We’re celebrating tonight.”
Your friend already knows the story. The call can begin with excitement instead of an explanation.
THE CELEBRATION FOUND YOU.
03 YOUR FRIENDS, RIGHT NOW
A little context
goes a long way.
You do not always call to announce a new hobby, a film or a passing thought. A few words are enough.
- Things you started or discovered
- Albums, films and very personal opinions
- Questions, searches and messages in a bottle
ONLY YOU AND THE MATTER’S AUTHOR SEE YOUR REACTION
04 WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Is this for me?
You tell us.
A little like you? A lot like your best friend? Pick a character and see what might resonate.
Choose a character to discover what they need.
TWO MINUTES IS ENOUGH
Catch up. Show you care.
Get on with your day.
- 01
Share what’s shaping your life.
Share what matters to you right now on your profile, without putting on a performance.
- 02
See what changed.
Catch up with the people you care about. There’s an end, and you’ll reach it.
- 03
Show you care. Or start a conversation.
React with an emoji. Want to talk? One tap lets you choose your messenger, with the Matter text already filled in. Add your words and send there.
A sign here. Conversations wherever you like.
A few minutes to catch up with your people. An emoji to show you care. Want to talk? One tap lets you choose your messenger, with the Matter text already filled in. Matters is here to keep you close, not to keep you in the app.
05 THE MATTERS DIFFERENCE
Your people.
Your choice.
Choose who receives each update. In Matters, a circle is simply a private recipient list—not a shared group.
Create private lists.
Matters calls them circles. Family, close friends, people from one city: organise your audiences without displaying their member lists.
Choose who receives it.
Send a Matter to one list, several lists, or only selected people.
Say it once.
The same update reaches everyone you choose without being copied into several conversations.
A sign here. Conversations wherever you like.
Matters is not a messenger. React with an emoji or choose your messenger in one tap, with the Matter text already filled in.
Caught up? Enjoy the rest.
No algorithm and no infinite feed. The goal is to keep you close, not to make you spend more time in an app.
Your people, several languages. One Matter.
Your people do not all speak the same language? You can write a Matter in several languages, in one place. Everyone reads it in their preferred language, if you have added that version.
An update in French for your family, in English for your friends abroad. You choose the words; everyone reads the version that suits them.
Your people see what you choose to share. Your lists stay private. Each reaction stays between two people.
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SOCIAL NETWORKS?06 A PERSONAL REASON
Caring should not
require constant catching up.

When Ulysse, my dog, developed cancer, his illness unfolded over several months. My friends and family wanted to know how he was doing, and I wanted to keep them informed. But I did not have the desire or energy to call everyone every day and repeat the same difficult update.
I wished for a simple, private place where I could share one short update with the people close to me—enough to say where we were without turning an intimate time into a public announcement.
That is one reason I created Matters: so the people who care can stay present, even when talking asks too much.— MARC, FOUNDER OF MATTERSWhen I missed Matters.
- When friends learned two years later that I was making copies of paintings.
- When I wanted a recommendation for a vegan restaurant.
- When one week in Paris meant updating five WhatsApp groups.
- When I quit coffee and mornings needed some encouragement.
- When I had a free hour at Gare de Lyon, but no one to grab a drink with.
- When I learned a year later that a friend had been through depression.
- When I learned six months later that a friend had moved.
07 KEEP YOUR PEOPLE CLOSE
